Director's Office
Board meeting
The Director's Office provides overall vision and leadership and determination of policy formulation and establishes the agency's strategic goals, legislative initiatives and long-term planning.

The office oversees board and council operations, including planning and coordination of board and council meetings, and manages administrative rulemaking for the agency and for each regulated profession.

The office also oversees human resource management and public information activities to communicate with the agency's wide range of stakeholders.

The agency director assumes ultimate responsibility for the accountability of the agency, for achieving outcomes, complying with state law and ensuring stewardship of the funds entrusted for agency operations by the Oregon State Legislature.

Board of Body Art Practitioners Created
Laws and Rules
The 2011 Oregon Legislature passed HB 2013 which creates a Board of Body Art Practitioners within the Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) to advise the agency on the regulation of body piercing, dermal implanting, electrology, scarification and tattooing. The agency filed administrative rules on November 1, 2011, which propose new qualification requirements for body piercing.
