Regulations governing hearing aid specialists and purchase contracts in Oregon are contained in Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 694.015-694.185 and 694.991.
Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR) for hearing aid specialists and purchase contracts are contained in Chapter 331, Divisions 601-650.
Oregon Health Licensing Agency (OHLA) statutes and rules governing administrative, procedural, licensing and regulatory compliance requirements for all OHLA-regulated professions are found in ORS 676.605-676.625 and 676.992 and OAR 331, Divisions 001-030.

The Oreogn Health Licensing Agency and the Advisory Council on Hearing Aids will begin the administrative rulemaking process in January 2012.
Areas to be addressed are as follows:
- Training requirements;
- Qualification requirements;
- Examination protocols;
- Supervisor requirements; .
- Pathways to licensure;
- Renewal requirements; and
- Continuing education requirements.
