Board Member Biography
Nicolle King Deering
Ms. Nicolle King Deering has been a Consultant Pharmacist for PayLess Drug Long Term Care Pharmacy since 2003 and Director of Consulting Services since 2007, where she is responsible for the management of the clinical consulting team and development of clinical programs serving thousands of long-term care residents throughout the Northwest.
Previously, Ms. King Deering served as a Healthcare Investigator/Pharmacy Inspector for the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy from 2000-2003, where she investigated consumer complaints against pharmacists, technicians and pharmacies.  From 1993-1999 she worked for Clinical Health Systems Pharmacy (later NCS Healthcare) as a Consultant Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager and Director of Operations.
Ms. King Deering has presented to audiences as diverse as preschool-aged children on poison prevention to the Oregon State University College of Pharmacy Law Class.  Most recently, she presented "Senior Care Pharmacy and Potentially Inappropriate Medications in the Elderly" to the Washington County Department of Aging Services Community Providers Network in 2009.
She is a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist, Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, Past President of the Oregon Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and a registered pharmacist and licensed pharmacy preceptor in Oregon and Washington. Ms. King Deering graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy and Certificate in Gerontology.
"I have always been interested in the care of the geriatric patient and specifically those residing in nursing facilities," she says.  "Additionally, my experience working for the Oregon Board of Pharmacy provides me with the necessary background for understanding administrative law."
