The Central Materials Laboratory provides statewide support to our construction and maintenance programs. Our teams do so by performing specialized testing on asphalt and asphalt oil, aggregate, soil, and structural materials as well as supporting the Statewide Quality Assurance Program.
The importance of accurate testing cannot be overemphasized. The cost of materials and the construction involved in a project represents many thousands of dollars and the entire investment can be jeopardized if the quality of materials is not verified and maintained.
Lab Certification Program
The Construction Section developed a laboratory certification program to support the Oregon Department of Transportation’s Quality Assurance Program for Construction Materials. To review the program, please refer to the
