The Oregon Department of Transportation develops and maintains traffic control standards and practices for use on construction projects and maintenance operations.
A traffic control plan is required for any temporary activity that will disrupt the normal flow of traffic on a highway.
The primary function of the plan is to allow safe and effective movement of public traffic - including vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians - through or around the work zone, while providing an equally safe and efficient work space for highway workers.
Email the Work Zone Standards Team to receive updates about the traffic analysis tool.
ODOT conducts statewide work zone reviews to collect data related to traffic control plan design and the implementation of those plans on state highway construction projects. Data is used to identify priorities related to changes in traffic control plan design standards and practices.
