The Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) is excited to announce the launch of our new online permitting system, DEPS! For the most up-to-date information regarding DEPS, visit us at the MLRR home page.

What is DEPS?

The DOGAMI e-Permitting System (DEPS) is a new online system for submitting and managing permit applications. DEPS has been created to streamline applications and permit processes that were previously done through a paper submittal process. Supported permit types include the following:

  • Aggregate Surface Mining
  • Non-Aggregate Surface Mining
  • Chemical Process Mining
  • Exploration
  • Oil & Gas Wells
  • Geothermal Wells

Why Are We Transitioning to an Online System?

The industries we regulate and the general public need better access to information, faster turn-around times, and easier payment methods. We are working to meet those needs through DEPS!

Key Features

  • Online Payments: Pay invoices and fees online using e-Check and ACH payments.
  • 24/7 Access to Information: Check the status of your submitted applications, upcoming reporting obligations, permit renewal dates, scheduled inspections, pay invoices, and correspond with DOGAMI Mineral Land Regulation & Reclamation (MLRR) staff.
  • 24/7 Access to Public Records: Easily access publicly available records and other public information, such as active applications, issued permits and public notices.

Implementation Timeline & Next Steps

We will be launching the DEPS public portal starting Winter 2026 through Spring 2027. Each of the following programs will be rolled out individually:

  • Chemical Process Mining
  • Surface Mining (Aggregate and Non-Aggregate)
  • Exploration
  • Geothermal and Oil & Gas Wells

Current permittees will receive information in the next few months about how to create an account and use the DEPS online portal.
