Employing Private Security Professionals

Employers of Private Security Professionals in Oregon must have the following:


1.  At least one person must be licensed at the level of Executive Manager*.
*An executive manager is not required to reside in the State of Oregon.

2.  The Executive Manager must ensure all security staff or alarm monitors are certified through the Program.

3.  Register your business with the Corporations Division of the Secretary of State’s office.

Please note that DPSST regulates the certification and licensure of private security and alarm monitoring Professionals (Individuals).  DPSST does not regulate the licensing of corporations or businesses. 
A business is not required to have a physical office in Oregon to provide private security or alarm monitoring in Oregon.
