New for 2023 Oregon Pesticide Registrations

Pesticide Registration Fee Increase

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) amended language in Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 603-057-0006, and increased registration fees for 2023. The effective date of the rule is September 21, 2022. Therefore, for products registered for the 2022 calendar year, the per product fee is $320.00. For products registered for the 2023 calendar year, the per product fee is $360.00. This amended rule also makes the fee nonrefundable.

The rule reads as follows:

Pesticide Registration Fees (OAR 603-057-0006)

(1) The annual registration fee for each pesticide product for calendar year 2022 shall be $320.

(2) Beginning for calendar year 2023 pesticide product registration, the annual nonrefundable registration fee for each pesticide product shall be $360.

Registration Renewals: Pesticide products need to be registered in the state of Oregon annually. The registration year ends Dec. 31. Pesticide registration renewal notices for 2023 will be sent by U.S. Mail on Nov. 15, 2022.

Online Pesticide Product Registrations: The ODA online pesticides registrations system will be off line Oct. 15-Nov. 14, 2022. The system will come back on line on Nov. 15, 2022 for registrants to begin submitting 2023 renewal applications, applications for new 2023 registrations, and revised labels.

If necessary, applications for new 2022 registrations can still be submitted after Oct. 14, 2022; however, such applications must be submitted using our paper form.

Paper Registration Applications: At this time, paper applications must be submitted for initial product registrations for new companies that do not have an active pesticide product registration (PPR) license in our online system (and for late 2022 new registrations between Oct. 15 and Dec. 31, 2022). Paper applications must also be used for new FIFRA Section 24(c) Special Local Need registrations.

  • If applying for a new 2023 registration (new companies without current license/registrations only), please use the 2023 PPR application form reflecting the new $360 fee for 2023.
