ODOT WorkSpace & Monthly Changes

ODOT Employees

  • The correct version of the workspace for MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, OpenSite Designer, and OpenBridge Modeler is automatically downloaded to your computer based upon the version of the Bentley CAD software that you have installed. ODOT Employees may select the Custom Configuration of the ODOT_CONNECT WorkSpace and the ODOT WorkSet when using the CAD software with DGN files that are stored locally or in personal/crew server shares. When accessing DGNs stored in ProjectWise, the project WorkSet will automatically be used in conjunction with the ODOT_CONNECT WorkSpace from your C: drive. The image below shows the three steps to open a DGN file after launching MicroStation 2023 from the desktop shortcut (OpenX products are similar).

  • The V8i workspace was frozen in 2020 and the standards are 4 years out of date! However, the old V8i workspace is automatically downloaded to ODOT computers if Power InRoads V8i is installed.
Consultant Partners

  • The ODOT_CONNECT | ODOT Custom Configuration for the current CAD platform (v2023) may be copied from ftp://ftp.odot.state.or.us/isb/appeng/ODOT_workspace/ (Copy and paste this link into File Explorer; Chrome and Edge browsers do not work well with FTP.) Copy and paste "v2023_External_ODOT.zip" to your own computer. Extract to C:\. Additional steps to configure or update are found in the "Readme ODOT v2023 workspace.pdf" in the same FTP folder.
  • The workspace for OpenRoads Designer 2021 Release 2 (v10.10.21.04) and OpenSite Designer 2021 Release 2 (v10.10.21.04) remains available from ftp://ftp.odot.state.or.us/isb/appeng/CONNECT/  (Copy and paste this link into File Explorer; Chrome and Edge browsers do not work well with FTP.) Copy and paste "V10_External_ODOT.zip" to your own computer. Extract to C:\. Additional steps to configure are found in the "Readme_ODOT_CONNECT_PW.pdf" in the same FTP folder.
  • ODOT V8i workspace may be copied from ftp://ftp.odot.state.or.us/isb/appeng/MicroStation/V8i/  (Copy and paste this link into File Explorer; Chrome and Edge browsers do not work well with FTP.) Additional steps to configure and launch are found in the Readme_ODOTspace.html in the same FTP folder. NOTE: THE V8i WORKSPACE WAS FROZEN IN 2020 AND THE STANDARDS ARE 4 YEARS OUT OF DATE!

WorkSpace Changes

ODOT's V8i workspace has been frozen.

The ODOT_CONNECT WorkSpace is updated for changes to resource files each month and a spreadsheet of affected files is sent out. Send an email to  odot.east@odot.oregon.gov to be included in the Consultant V10 Update distribution list.
