Statewide Toll Rulemaking Advisory Committee

Statewide Toll Rulemaking Advisory Committee

We are seeking members for the Statewide Toll Rulemaking Advisory Committee

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking 10-15 individuals to serve on our Statewide Toll Rulemaking Advisory Committee (STRAC) for approximately 8-12 months. The committee would begin later this fall and will help develop Oregon Administrative Rules that determine how toll rates are set and how customers interact with the toll system.  These rules will apply to planned toll projects in the Portland Metro area, as well as any future projects in the state. The rules and rates will be approved by the Oregon Transportation Commission. Check out the STRAC Overview and draft schedule for more details.

ODOT's goal is to have a diverse membership that reflects various lived experiences and a balanced representation of those who use or are impacted by Oregon's Toll Program, particularly those who have been historically underserved or underrepresented in transportation programs and projects. We encourage people who identify as women (trans-inclusive) and Black, Indigenous, or People of Color to express interest in serving on this committee. We are also searching for members who:
  • Have knowledge of institutional racism, equity, and direct experience with historically underserved or underrepresented communities.
  • Own or work for businesses that use the corridors planned to be tolled.
  • Have experience working on environmental protection.
  • Geographic diversity from throughout Oregon and including Southwest Washington.
  • Regularly use the transportation system in the project area to commute or visit (i.e. driving, public transit, biking, etc.).
  • Can serve as a connection to with community members and/or community-based processes.
  • Are willing to follow the guiding principles and expectations set for the STRAC.
  • Accept the direction that ODOT has received to develop and implement an Oregon Toll Program.
Interested people will need to complete an online application by clicking here to complete a quick questionnaire. We will start reviewing applications on September 16th so encourage you to express interest before then.

Members will be selected by ODOT. Reimbursement for time may be available by request.

For questions or assistance with the questionnaire, contact Kelly Bruce, ODOT Senior Organizational Strategy Consultant, at kelly.a.bruce@odot.oregon.gov or 971-718-6501.
