Oregon Disaster Housing Task Force

​The Task Force operates under the direction of Oregon Housing and Community Services, specifically as a subcommittee to the State Recovery Function 5 - Disaster Housing (SRF 5) and leadership within the Office of Emergency Management. As a task force member you will be key in accomplishing our four primary goals.

1. ​Develop a disaster housing strategy that in time of disaster that will work with Tribal Nations, federal, state, county, and other community partners to identify a broad range of housing resources; while making sure the response considers the disparate impacts of disasters on Communities of Color, Indigenous, and LGBTQ communities.
2. Develop processes, guidance, and tools that can assist local governments to identify disaster housing options within their community by identifying, recommending, and integrating of all levels of housing resources to support short and long term recovery goals.
3. Provide support at the Joint Field Office (JFO) to assess the housing needs of affected area(s), and if applicable, strive to place housing specialists in community Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) to help individuals and families find suitable interim housing.
4. Meet on a regular basis to facilitate a culture of preparedness in response to future disasters. ​
