Resources for partners that serve veterans

General Housing Account Program (GHAP)

The General Housing Account Program for Veterans (VGHAP) funds the creation of affordable rental housing for Oregonians living on low incomes. One-quarter of these funds are set aside to serve veterans and their families. These developments can be dedicated for veterans-only housing or mixed with other funding sources to set aside a portion of homes in the development project to veterans.

In 2024, $30 million of this funding was allocated to develop affordable rental housing for veterans. Learn more: OHCS' General Housing Account Program.

Veteran Housing Provider Network meetings

In partnership with the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, OHCS hosts Veteran Housing Provider Convenings to spur collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. The purpose of the convenings is to bring everyone together — from front line staff to executive leadership, elected officials, state and federal partners, and those interested in assisting in the intersection of veterans and housing in Oregon — to share, learn, and collaborate on best practices.
