The Oregon Department of Energy was successful in raising funds for its Renewable Energy Development Grants, thanks to the many Oregonians who bid for tax credits during a September auction. For those who missed this opportunity, the Department of Revenue will hold one more auction for ODOE this year:
October 13-22 - Alternative Fuel Vehicles: This sale will provide funds for a revolving loan fund for public entities interested in converting their fleets to alternative fuel vehicles or purchasing these types of vehicles. In 2015, some private companies that operate in Portland or Medford will also be able to borrow from this fund.
Oregon taxpayers can purchase Tax Credit Certificates in increments of $500, with a minimum bid of $475. Higher bids will be given preference at the close of the bidding period. A little more than $2 million is available for purchase.
