Hanford Stacks
  • Technical review of Hanford Nuclear Site cleanup efforts and assessment of potential impacts on the Columbia River and Oregon.
  • The safe transport of radioactive material in and through Oregon, including portions of deactivated nuclear-powered submarines and cruisers on the Columbia River.
  • Staffing the Oregon Hanford Cleanup Board, an ODOE advisory board that reviews Hanford cleanup issues.
  • Emergency preparedness and response in the event of a nuclear accident at Hanford or at Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station nuclear power plant in Washington.

  • Representing Oregon on the Hanford Natural Resources Trustee Council, a committee of trustees with legal responsibility for overseeing the natural resource damage assessment and restoration (NRDAR) process at Hanford under the federal Superfund law.
  • Development and implementation of the Oregon Fuel Action Plan.
  • Oversight and regulation of the cleanup of the White King and Lucky Lass uranium mines in southern Oregon.
  • Oversight and regulation of the decommissioned Trojan Nuclear Power Plant site northwest of Portland.
