    Created in 1972, the State Landscape Contractors Board (LCB) licenses landscape contracting businesses and landscape construction professionals.  Landscape construction professionals must meet experience and/or education requirements and pass a competency exam.  Landscape contracting businesses must obtain a surety bond, submit evidence of liability insurance and employ or be owned by a licensed landscape construction professional. 
How to become licensed:
Are you interested in a career in landscape construction?  Step by step process on how to become licensed to perform landscape work in the State of Oregon.   

    Traditional Written Examination - Registration always open!

Practical Skills Exam NALP announced changes to the Landscape Industry Certified Technician -Exterior Program which the LCB currently leverages as an alternative testing option to the
traditional written exam, Practical Skills. Retakes will be offered in Idaho in September, that 
may be the last opportunity to test under this option.
