Flag Flying Protocol

The Governor issues a notice to public building managers when to fly flags at half-staff

Passage of HB2892 in 2015 (ORS 186.110) requires that three flags be flown when the existing flagpole is the right size to fly all three flags at the same time. The three flags are the United States flag, the Oregon State flag and the National League of Families' POW/MIA flag. Any new public building built after May 18, 2015, must include flag poles that can properly display all three flags at the same time. Find information about displaying flags in the National Flag Code.
