Payroll systems support

This seven member team consists of professionals assisting the other 50+ agency payroll technicians in their daily payroll duties. PSS has several different sections to help agencies. 

OSPS Help desk

Help desk staff are available by phone and email to assist agency payroll staff in completing OSPA processing as well as to assist with overall payroll related needs. The help desk staff are also the ones that complete the daily "manual" or off-cycle check process. Additionally, our help desk staff process employee payments from agencies, cancel and rewrite checks when necessary and provide a first line of auditing and error checking for all transactions, each month.

System analysts

These professionals are tasked with the duty of making sure that system changes are correctly documented, tested and implemented as needed. They also monitor and analyze system generated reports.  On average, there is about 7 system modifications per month. 

Accountant​

Our dedicated accountant is responsible for reconciling daily, bi-monthly and monthly system transactions. In addition, the OSPS accountant researches and reconciles ACH problems, payroll transfers and payments (like federal, state and other taxes), vendor payments, and completes any employee requests for a reissued W-2.

Trainer

The OSPS trainer is responsible for analyzing, creating and implementing both system and process training for agency payroll staff. This training can be in a computer classroom with hands-on demonstration and practice, in a virtual classroom that is instructor led, or via an on-demand tutorial that payroll staff can view at their convenience. Currently, the training program offers quarterly forums that allow payroll staff to stay updated on the most current and relevant payroll issues as well as many different subject specific classes, web pages, tutorials and job aids. 

Manager

The OSPS manager oversees both Payroll System Support and Shared Payroll Services as well as managing multiple electronic payroll projects, monitoring compliance with state and federal regulations, providing technical assistance to agencies and other OSPS staff and assisting on emergency system modifications.
