Coaching

Coaching services are a powerful way to improve skills, achieve goals, and build relationships. The State of Oregon has both internal and external skilled coaches ready to support you in your growth as a leader.

Before selecting coaching services, it's important to understand what coaching is — and what it is not. Review the Coaching Overview to understand the difference.

One-on-one coaching is a professional development opportunity designed to help you stay focused, set meaningful goals and take action toward achieving them. The coaching relationship lasts between three-to-nine months, providing dedicated time for reflection, clarity, and growth.

Sessions are typically about an hour long, and the frequency of meetings is co-designed by you and your coach.

There are two options for coaching:
  • Internal coaching – Certified coaches working at the State of Oregon with no additional cost to your agency.

  • External coaching – Provided by professional coaches outside the state of Oregon, available through a state-approved price agreement.

How to get started:

In-the-moment coaching is a short, focused coaching session that helps you work through a current challenge, decision or situation. These sessions are designed to give support right when you need it, helping you move forward with more clarity and confidence.

This service is available only to individuals who have already taken part in a one-on-one coaching engagement. It builds on your past coaching experience and is not meant to replace a full coaching process.

Sessions are typically 60-to-90 minutes and can be scheduled quickly to meet your immediate need.

How to get started:
  • In-the-moment coaching is for those who have had one-on-one coaching before.

360 Leadership Circle Profile Coaching is for those who have already taken the 360 Leadership Circle Profile (LCP) and want to dive deeper into their results. This coaching helps you understand your strengths, areas for growth, and how your internal mindset affects your leadership.

In coaching, we’ll review your LCP report, explore your leadership style, and create a personalized plan for your development.
