Oregon Trail Solar Facility

The Oregon Trail Solar Facility is an approved solar photovoltaic energy generation facility not to exceed 41 MW, with up to 400 acres of solar photovoltaic energy generation equipment within the approved 645-acre solar micrositing area. Facility components would be located within an approved 1,343-acre site boundary.

Approved/Under Construction. The certificate holder commenced construction of a portion of the facility, including a 20-MW battery energy storage facility on 6 acres, on August 30, 2025. The deadline to complete construction of all remaining facility components is August 30, 2028. ​

On September 18, 2026 the Energy Facility Siting Council approved its Final Order on Request for Amendment 2 (RFA2) of the  Site Certificate, authorizing the removal of wind generation components from the site certificate, and a split of the site certificate into two separate site certificates and facilities, one owned by the existing certificate holder and the other owned by a new certificate holder.

On September 25, 2020, the Energy Facility Siting Council approved Request for Amendment 5 of the Montague Wind Power Facility site certificate, which authorized allocation of previously approved facility components into an amended and two original site certificates for Montague Wind Power Facility , Montague Solar Facility and Oregon Trail Solar Facility, respectively.
