On December 22, 2025, the Oregon Department of Energy (Department) received a Notice of Intent (NOI) to file an Application for a Site Certificate (ASC) for the Klamath Falls Energy Center (proposed facility). On February 4, 2026, the Department issued Public Notice of the NOI, Public Comment Period, and Public Informational Meeting. The comment period on the NOI was extended to March 20, 2026. On May 11, 2026, the Department issued the Project Order, which identifies the appliable rules, statutes, and information that must be provided in the Application for Site Certificate (ASC). The deadline for the applicant to submit the pASC is December 22, 2027, unless the applicant requests a one year extension from Council. All public comments are included as Attachment 1 to the Project Order.
