Location description

Jordan Cove Energy Project, LP, a subsidiary of Pembina Pipeline Corporation, proposed to construct and operate three, 30-megawatt steam turbine generators (STG) to provide electrical power to a surrounding liquid natural gas terminal. Steam for use by the STGs would be generated by five heat recovery steam generators, using exhaust from the LNG refrigerant compression gas turbine drivers. The proposed energy generating components of the LNG terminal would be located in the northeast corner of the terminal, which were proposed to be located on the North Spit of Coos Bay, approximately 3,800 feet north of the city limits of North Bend.
Withdrawn.

On June 22, 2018, ODOE received an Application for Exemption from a Site Certificate, from Jordan Cove Energy Project L.P., for a high-efficiency cogeneration energy facility.

On July 25, 2018, following a request for additional information from ODOE Siting staff, Jordan Cove Energy Project L.P. submitted a revised Application for Exemption from Site Certificate.

O
n April 12, 2019, ODOE received a letter from the Jordan Cove Energy Project indicating that, due to engineering changes to on-site energy generation at the export facility, the company is no longer seeking an exemption to a site certificate.

On May 2, 2019 Jordan Cove Energy Project submitted a Supplemental Resource Report to the FERC docket describing its updated electrical design.

On July 3, 2019 the Oregon Department of Justice, on behalf of multiple State agencies, submitted comments on FERC's Draft Environmental Impact Statement. The comments are linked below.

On December 1, 2021, the project owner filed their initial brief requesting that FERC vacate the authorizations for the project under Sections 3 and 7 of the Natural Gas Act. On December 16, FERC issued an order vacating authorizations issued for both the Jordan Cove LNG Terminal and the Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline. This effectively ends the project.
