Trojan Nuclear Plant

Trojan was a 1,130-megawatt nuclear-fueled power plant that was decommissioned in 2004.
Portland General Electric completed decommissioning in December 2004. On April 8, 2005, EFSC found that the decommissioning of the Trojan Nuclear Plant is complete and that the site meets all criteria for unrestricted release. Unrestricted release means that the site can be safely used for any purpose, including residential use. The Council approved rule amendments regarding the site. The Oregon Department of Energy continues to monitor compliance with the approved decommissioning plan and spent nuclear fuel storage as required by Oregon Administrative Rules 345-026-0370(4) and 345-026-0390.
