When an OEBB member retires prior to age 65, and is not yet Medicare-eligible, they have the option to remain on OEBB benefit plans as an “early retiree” until they gain eligibility for Medicare. If the early retiree does not receive an employer contribution toward their benefits, the employing entity has the option to turn the benefits administration for that “Self-Pay Early Retiree” over to OEBB. These “OEBB-Administered Self-Pay Retirees” are the members referred to in this section of the website.
If you are a benefits administrator at an OEBB-participating entity, OEBB has created a toolkit to help you transition your self-pay early retiree’s benefits administration to OEBB.
If you are a Self-Pay Early Retiree whose benefits are administered by OEBB, you can find applicable forms and information in this section of the website. For additional assistance, call OEBB Member Services at 888-469-6322.
