Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)

The Oregon Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) helps healthcare providers deliver better patient care by tracking prescription medications. The system collects prescription data from all Oregon-licensed retail pharmacies when they dispense Schedules II, III and IV controlled substancesThe PDMP supports the appropriate use of prescription drugs by helping patients and health care providers work together to determine what medications are best for them.

PDMP Registration

All Oregon-licensed physicians and PAs who have a DEA number with an Oregon address are required to register for the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.

How to Register:

Required for Registration:
  • Access to a PC, tablet, or smart phone
  • NPI and DEA number
  • Digital copy of government-issued identification, such as passport or state-issued driver license
The most common error and cause of delay is failure to verify registration via email. New registrants must open the verification email from the PDMP and click the “Verify your email” link right away. Check spam folders, if you do not receive a verification email.

Oregon also allows voluntary registration to the PDMP for those who do not meet mandatory registration requirements.

The PDMP is administered by the Oregon Health Authority.  Any questions, concerns, or issues with registration or use of the PDMP should be directed to pdmp.health@state.or.us or 866-205-1222.
