Family Orientation

The OYA family orientation is an information-filled session where family members learn about services and opportunities in OYA.

At what may be a stressful and challenging time, family members will meet and hear from staff who will answer their questions and explain how important their involvement is to the success of their youth.

Contact the case coordinator on your youth’s living unit to sign up for an orientation session.

Family Events

Positive family connections help youth do better in their education and treatment. MacLaren supports positive family involvement.

We host many events where youth and their families can spend time together. These include sports tournaments, cultural events, and graduation.

To learn about upcoming events, ask your youth's case coordinator.

Do You Want to Get Involved?

Join the OYA Family Advisory Council. The council advises OYA on:
  • how to improve opportunities for families to meaningfully engage with their youth;
  • how to support families in understanding and navigating the system; and
  • how to incorporate family voice into OYA policies and practices.
