HR Equal Pay Toolkit



The HR Equal Pay Toolkit provides key tools for agency human resources (HR) offices to help them navigate equal pay processes and make fair, accurate pay decisions.

New tools and resources will be added to this site over time as they are developed. Prior to adding them here, CHRO will share new tools and resources through statewide Recruitment and Classification & Compensation meetings to keep our HR partners informed.
 
Accessing the Oregon State Step Calculator
The calculator is updated to incorporate classification and compensation changes throughout the year. To access the most current, up-to-date calculator, agency HR analysts should always use the Oregon State Step Calculator to conduct EPAs.
 
Requesting CHRO Employee Pay Assessment (EPA) Review
When an employee-requested EPA results in a step increase, agency HR offices should use the Smartsheet link below to submit the Oregon State Step Calculator, the employee's initial EPA request, and the agency HR's analysis to CHRO for review. This process also applies to agency-identified EPA adjustments.

Accessing Desk Guides

Accessing Equal Pay Training
Agency HR staff should reference the training below to gain a general understanding of Equal Pay Law, equal pay practices, and the use of the Oregon State Step Calculator.

  • All agency HR analysts who work with EPAs are highly encouraged to complete the Equal Pay Training in Workday.

Tracking Equal Pay Communications
To support consistent, accurate communication about equal pay topics, CHRO is developing a centralized repository for Equal Pay communications. This section will serve as a resource for agency HR offices, providing examples of employee communication templates and copies of key Equal Pay messages shared statewide. As new tools and communication materials are developed, they will be shared in statewide meetings then added here to ensure HR partners have timely, easy access to important information.
