Community Resource Corner

DEQ created the CAO Community Resource Corner to provide the necessary tools and information for the public to engage in the CAO risk assessment process. The Community Resource Corner will provide an overview of the CAO program, guidance on how to engage in the CAO risk assessment process and tools to understand health risk assessments.

Community engagement is at the heart of Cleaner Air Oregon. In collaboration with the Oregon Health Authority and with feedback from the public, DEQ developed a Community Engagement Toolkit to help guide public participation in Oregon's health risk-based permitting program for toxic air contaminants. The Toolkit serves as a guide for DEQ to customize a community engagement strategy based on the needs of a community. DEQ engages the public through sharing clear and accurate information, consultation and involvement in the CAO risk assessment process.
