Restore Health and Safety

Important note: The Restore Health and Safety (RHS) Program does not have funds at this time.

Owning a home is something most people strive for. Along with it comes the responsibility of ongoing maintenance, occasional repair and improvements.

Qualified organizations administer the Restore Health and Safety (RHS) Program funds. They determine program requirements for individuals and families. This includes funds for Veterans with a focus on underserved populations.

The RHS program provides financial assistance to homeowners to repair and modify their homes for better health and safety. The program includes repairs that affect the house structure and/or repairs that are not limited to:
  • Accessibility/adaptability modifications
  • Updates to code compliance
  • Emergency repairs
  • Repairs for structural integrity
The program receives funds from the state Document Recording Fee (DRF). OHCS allocates these funds to qualified organizations to assist Oregon homeowners who are at risk of living in unhealthy homes, or who are subject to potential displacement due to health and safety concerns. This allows homeowners to enjoy the benefits of residing in habitable, safe, healthy, and sustainable homes.
