PUC Update

Governor Kate Brown signed Executive Order 20-12 -- Stay Home, Save Lives. The PUC is continuing to work remotely to do our part to flatten the curve. Learn more about the PUC's COVID-19 response and our remote work protocols.

The Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation to protect and support PUC operations, employees, and stakeholders. Due to the critical work we do for Oregonians, we will remain open, but have modified our operations with the majority of staff working remotely and conducting meetings by phone or video conference.

The PUC is conducting an investigation into the impacts of COVID-19 on utility customers, which will explore recovery from the pandemic. 

Utilities -- Offering Energy Assistance

Having trouble paying your utility bills? Do you bills have a growing balance? There may be help for you! Please don't let your bills grow beyond your ability to manage them. Contact your utility service provider directly to find out what programs may be available to you.

Many utility companies are offering benefits to customers, such as free services, suspending service disconnections, and waiving late fees to support Oregonians impacted by this public health crisis. Learn more about Energy Assistance available to you.

Upcoming PUC Events

Due to the COVID-19 situation, the PUC will conduct all scheduled events by phone, webinar, or video conference until further notice. This includes public meetings, staff workshops, settlement conferences, as well as other scheduled events. The live streaming option is not available at this time.

Regular Public Meetings – 

  • Off-site participation is currently by phone only – Check the agenda for the call-in number and passcode. View agendas on the Upcoming Events page. The live streaming option is not be available at this time. We are looking at using Zoom for future regular public meetings, so stay tuned for details on that.

Events, Workshops, Meetings with Staff – 

  • Offsite participation by phone or video conference - depending on what format is best for the specific meeting. Contact the appropriate PUC staff member for log-in information. View the agency directory for contact information.
