Regional/Advanced Training

Welcome to DPSST's Regional Training Program.  Regional/Advanced Training is responsible for delivering mandated, specialized and maintenance training to Oregon's criminal justice professionals on a regional basis. This section partners with Oregon's criminal justice public safety agencies to identify training needs and resources, provide training for local trainers, coordinate and facilitate skills-based and specialized training and provide technical support. The Regional Training Section also coordinates and delivers the agency's Instructor Development Courses (IDC), which prepare agency instructors to teach in the academy-based basic courses. Finally, the Section is responsible for standardized field sobriety testing (SFST), driving under the influence of intoxicants video training, SFST instructor updates and RADAR/LIDAR usage.

Regional Coordinators

Regional training coordinators are located throughout the state and assist agencies with a variety of training. The Regional Training Map  lists the regional training coordinator for each region and their contact information.

Training Opportunities

Training opportunities that are being offered across the state can be found below.  Not all of the classes listed below are sponsored by DPSST, some classes are sponsored by other public safety agencies. Additional class details can be found by clicking on the plus (+) sign.

When DPSST Regional Training is processing the registrations for a class, the training announcement will contain a link to an online registration form. Each DPSST class has its own unique registration form link. Please use the registration link found in each individual training announcement.

If you experience difficulty accessing the online registration form, more than likely your agency's security features are preventing access to the form. Please use this alternate application form ONLY IF you are unable to access the online registration link found in the training announcement: Regional/Advanced Training Course Application Form. Follow the instructions at the bottom of the application to submit the form.

After completing law enforcement related training, submit an F6 Training Roster to DPSST or submit one upon returning to your agency. The F6 form can be found here: F6.  Questions regarding the F6 form can be emailed to: dpsst.f6roster@dpsst.oregon.gov
