Energy in Oregon

The Oregon Department of Energy is responsible for Oregon's long-term energy planning and system resiliency.

From analyzing our past to planning for the future, our team is committed to leading Oregon to a safe, clean, and sustainable energy future.

ODOE's Planning & Innovation Division developed a 2015-2019 Strategic Framework, which outlined broad policy focus areas and provided a high-level look at how we plan to move energy forward in Oregon, including strategies to:

  • Help Oregonians use energy more efficiently and reduce energy use
  • Support the development of clean energy resources
  • Increase the demand for alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure
  • Build a more resilient energy system
As 2019 – and the final year for the framework – came to a close, we looked back at the framework and the many accomplishments and activities we completed here at ODOE and with our partners. Check out our Strategic Framework Activities and Accomplishments.
