2026 Certification User Group Environmental Summit

Target Audience

Certified local agency project managers and other staff involved in the environmental aspects of FHWA funded project delivery, including consultants working on local agency projects. Non-certified local agency staff interested in the environmental aspects of FHWA funded project delivery are welcome to attend.  

Event Description

This 2-day environmental summit will be an interactive training intended to strengthen certified local agencies’ partnership with ODOT in meeting NEPA and environmental requirements on FHWA funded transportation projects. Geared toward certified local agency project managers, attendees will increase their understanding of:

  • An overview of NEPA procedural requirements, with an emphasis on the ODOT-FHWA programmatic agreement categorical exclusions that most commonly apply to certified local agency projects.
  • The certified local agency’s role in preparing key environmental documents and deliverables in the process, and the optimal timing of each.
  • The roles of ODOT environmental resources and subject matter experts, and when and how to engage them.
  • How to effectively use information in the environmental chapter of the Local Agency Guidelines manual as a resource. 
  • Other environmental-related updates.

Deadline: July 1 (Late or onsite registration is not available)

Virtual Registration: Free
Deadline: Day of registration permitted.

  • Attendees are welcome to attend one day in-person and one day virtually, or switch from in-person to virtual attendance. However, no partial fees or refunds will be provided.
  • Virtual attendance participation in interactive elements of the summit will be more limited. In person attendance is encouraged.
  • Free parking available onsite.
  • Coffee and snacks will be provided. Attendees may bring their own lunch or order from Little Lois Café. Note: Refrigerator and microwaves are not available.
