Materials to Help People Learn about OHP
This toolkit guides OHP community partners, health insurance agents and anyone working with the OHP community to promote OHP with the goals of:
- Informing the public that OHP coverage is available and provides health care coverage for people from all walks of life, and
- Helping OHP members understand and use their OHP benefits.
This toolkit includes a core message frame, branded materials and social media cards. We will continue expanding content and materials as needed. Please send any questions or concerns to community.outreach@oha.oregon.gov.
Descriptors and Message Frames
Use the following language to explain OHP and Healthier Oregon:
English: Free health coverage offered by the state of Oregon.
Spanish: Cobertura de salud gratuita ofrecida por el estado de Oregon.
The Oregon Health Plan, also known as OHP, provides free health coverage for people who live in Oregon and meet income and other criteria. It covers health care services like:
- Medical care
- Mental health care
- Dental care
- Hospital care
- Prescriptions
- Rides to and from health care appointments
- And many other services

As of July 1, 2023, people of any age or immigration status may be eligible for full Oregon Health Plan (OHP) benefits and other services and supports.
OHP is free health coverage for people who live in Oregon and who meet income and other criteria. It covers health care services like medical, mental health, and dental care; prescriptions, tests, x-rays, and hospital care; and rides to and from health care visits.
People with disabilities or 65 and older may also qualify for other services and supports. These may include case management services and services to support independent living, such as help with eating, bathing and travel to work.

A partir del 1ro de julio de 2023, personas de cualquier edad y estatus migratorio podrían ser elegibles para los beneficios completos del Plan de Salud de Oregon (OHP), y otros servicios y ayudas.
OHP es cobertura de salud gratuita para las personas que viven en Oregon y que cumplen con requisitos de ingreso, entre otros. Cubre servicios de cuidados de salud como asistencia médica, cuidado de salud mental, y dental; recetas médicas, exámenes médicos, rayos-x, y cuidados hospitalarios; además de transporte de ida y vuelta para sus citas de salud.
