Project summary
This project will restore the City of Oakland wastewater treatment plant to a pre-disaster condition after damage caused by the 2020 Labor Day Wildfires. The impacts of the disaster on the city's wastewater treatment systems have put the city at risk of not meeting permit standards and loading regulations. Currently the plant directly receives backwash from the water treatment plant causing excessive sludge, chemical cost, and electrical issues. The city plans to add equipment to change its effluent water from Class 3 to Class 1.
