SHOW Program Required Minimum Value Measures

The State Home Oil Weatherization (SHOW) Program provides cash payments to eligible homeowners and contractors, both for-profit and nonprofit, for completing energy conservation measures on Oregon dwellings. Cash payments are awarded based on a two-tiered system to allow for varied income eligibility.

This list provides the required minimum values for the approved measures the SHOW Program.

Heating Systems Measures

  • Heating systems: Is more efficient than previous and replaces existing units 
  • Replacement components: Is more efficient than previous and replaces existing units 
  • Safety/efficiency measures: Is more efficient than previous and replaces existing units 
  • Insulation, sealing, repair, or replacement of ductwork: Is more efficient than previous and replaces existing units 
  • Programmable thermostat: N/A

Insulation measures

  • Ceilings/attics: R-38 or fills the cavity 
  • Floors/subfloors: R-25 or fills the cavity 
  • Exterior walls/knee walls: R-21 or fills the cavity

Window and door measures

  • Exterior windows: Minimum value rating of U-0.30 
  • Exterior door with full/partial glass: Minimum value rating of U-0.30 
  • Exterior doors without glass: Minimum value rating of U-0.30 
  • Exterior doors Insulated or solid core: Insulated or solid core

Health and Safety/Building Code Requirements measures

  • Occupant health and safety and building code requirements, including but not limited to: 
    • Combustion appliance safety testing
    • Assessment/repair of hazards
    • Addressing moisture intrusion and air quality issues
    • Addressing shared vent or flue issues

Air infiltration measures

  • Promote less conditioned air loss, reduce moisture intrusion, and support the other measures applied to the pressure boundary, including but not limited to: 
    • The application of caulking
    • Installation of weatherstripping
    • Conducting pressure testing
