NOTICE: Current License Application Processing Timeframe Information
WHAT IS HAPPENING?
During this COVID-19 public health crisis, the OLCC continues to explore options to create efficiencies and provide economic relief to our licensees and applicants for licenses; however, please note the following:
- The OLCC has fewer staff to process liquor license applications, due to budget cuts affecting all state agencies.
- Staff are adjusting to process changes in response to helping licensees operate during the pandemic and learning and adopting these new processes can take some time.
- The pandemic's impact on the hospitality industry, and the overall economy, has resulted in a higher than normal volume of licensing change requests assigned to and processed per investigator, resulting in longer turnaround times.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR PROCESSING ALCOHOL LICENSE APPLICATIONS?
Please anticipate and plan for longer periods of time between submission of the application and its assignment to an investigator (approximately 60 days), as well as longer periods of time between assignment to an investigator and license issuance or approval of a license modification request (approximately 60 additional days—longer if involving a basis to deny or restrict the license). To speed up the processing timeframe, please be sure to do the following at the appropriate times:
- Submit the local governing body (LGB) application packet to the LGB as soon as you receive the packet from OLCC to avoid additional delay.
Information in this notice will be updated if there are any changes to the processing timeframe.
