Current License Application Processing Timeframe Information

Obtaining a liquor license is necessary for all establishments selling any alcoholic beverages. Liquor licensing in Oregon is a joint effort of the applicant, local authority (city or county), and the OLCC. The application process for a liquor license can be thorough and will require several kinds of documentation to ensure you meet state requirements. 

  • Submit the local governing body (LGB) application packet to the LGB as soon as you receive the packet from OLCC to avoid additional delay.

NOTICE: For Full or Limited On-Premises Sales Licensees and License Applicants


Effective June 8, 2021

  • The privileges of the Off-Premises Sales license are now included with the Full and Limited On-Premises Sales licenses. Full and Limited On-Premises Sales license applicants or existing licensees DO NOT NEED TO APPLY FOR  an Off-Premises Sales license to sell manufacturer-sealed containers of beer, wine, and cider for carry-out and delivery.
  • Both Full and Limited On-Premises sales licensees may now sell “kegs” (typically 5+ gallon containers) to individuals who come into the business to purchase the keg for carry-out. Full On-premises Sales license applicants or existing licensees DO NOT NEED TO APPLY FOR  a Limited On-Premises Sales license to sell kegs for carry-out.
