Board Member Information

The Oregon Board of Pharmacy consists of nine board members, five members are licensed Pharmacists, two are licensed Pharmacy Technicians and two are representatives of the public. The Governor appoints each member of the Board for a term of four years, subject to approval by the State Senate and they may be reappointed.

Bio

​Ian is currently the Associate Dean for Pharmacy Practice and Associate Professor at Pacific University School of Pharmacy (PUSOP) where he started as an Assistant Professor in 2010. Ian obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) and completed a residency in pharmacy practice at Oregon Health Sciences University. He has served on several boards, including Oregon Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Oregon State Pharmacists Association. He resides in Portland.

Bio

​Kat was appointed to the Oregon Board of Pharmacy as a public board member by Governor Kate Brown in November 2021. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner with the PeaceHealth Senior Health and Wellness Center in Eugene. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Lane Community College in Eugene, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s degrees from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Kat has over 20 years of nursing experience and resides in Eugene. She recently completed 6 years as a member of the Oregon Board of Nursing and 4 years as a committee member on this board’s Public Health and Pharmacy Formulary Advisory Committee.​

​Shannon is a 2008 Pharm D. Graduate of Oregon State University School of Pharmacy. She currently works as a Consultant Pharmacist for Specialty Pharmacy. Shannon's work experience has primarily been in the community-based retail setting that includes a few years in a compounding pharmacy. She resides in Sherwood.

Bio

​Rachael graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy. Rachael started her career as a pharmacy technician and worked her way though the tiers of management from ground level pharmacy management to Director of Pharmacy. She has worked in a mass merchant operation and grocery/pharmacy organization, as the Pharmacy District Manager in a drug store chain environment and is currently the Director of Pharmacy Regulatory & Professional Affairs for Kaiser Permanente. She resides in Keizer.

Jennifer is currently a Clinical Pharmacist at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Randall Children’s Hospital and Unity Center for Behavioral Health in Portland.  She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Pacific University School of Pharmacy in 2009 and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist. She resides in Portland. ​

Bio

​Dr. Rosemarie Hemmings was appointed to the Oregon Board of Pharmacy as a public board member by Governor Kate Brown in June 2022. She has a Masters in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Public Health and is currently an Assistant Professor in Community Dentistry and Director of Social Work at OHSU School of Dentistry. She has developed and teaches an innovative inter-professional curriculum related to social determinants of health, health equity, social and racial justice within the school of dentistry.  With over 30 years of experience as a social worker, Dr. Hemmings has been in private practice as a psychotherapist for over 15 years and currently has a practice in Beaverton where she focuses on working with BIPOC individuals, couples and families.

Bio

​Richard graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts. He served in the Army as a front line medic for 11 years and served a tour in Iraq in 2009-2010. With his military experience behind him, he fully resumed his job as pharmacy technician, specializing in medication history for patients to be admitted to an inpatient bed. He has worked as a pharmacy technician since 1996 and is currently a Med History Tech (MHT) Lead at Providence St. Vincent’s Hospital and resides in Portland.

Bio

Priyal earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Idaho State University in 2015 and Bachelor of Pharmacy from India. She is an accomplished clinical pharmacist, board certified in Geriatrics with expertise in chronic disease state management and 340B pharmacy. She was a PIC at a high volume retail chain pharmacy as well as a site pharmacy manager for the largest provider of behavior health, served as a member of the Opioid Task Force for Clackamas County Health Centers, provided pharmacy services for Lifework clinics, provided clinical pharmacist services at a rural critical acess hospital in southern Oregon. She currently is employed as an ambulatory care clinical pharmacist for North Bend Medical Center and co-owner of Broadway Pharmacy in North Bend.
