Covered Prescriptions
Each OEBB medical plan comes with a pharmacy benefit. Prescriptions are covered at different levels depending on which tier they are in (e.g., Generic, Preferred Brand, Non-Preferred Brand, etc.) and you can learn which medications are in which tiers by referencing your plan’s prescription formulary. As medication patents expire and more affordable generic alternatives come on the market, formularies get updated regularly throughout the plan year, in order to encourage use of the most cost-effective evidence-based options available.
