Apply for the Oregon Health Plan (OHP)

You Can Apply for OHP at Any Time of the Year.

OHP is Oregon's Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program. Enrollment is always open for OHP.

Medicare and private health insurance plans have open enrollment in the fall.

You may qualify even if you have Medicare or private health insurance. If you qualified for Medicaid in another state, you need to apply to find out if you qualify for OHP.

To see if you qualify:

  • Applying for OHP is the best way.
  • You can use this tool  to enter your household's income, ages and other information to see if applying for OHP is right for you.

To qualify for OHP individuals and families must meet income and residency requirements. Income limits change every year.

People may also qualify based on age and disability status. Requirements for older adults and people with disabilities are more complex. To learn more, call the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) at 1-855-ORE-ADRC (855-673-2372).

The OHP Application Guide gives you information and instructions about most sections in the OHP application:

When Will I Find Out If I Qualify for OHP?

If you applied with ODHS, your worker will let you know. It may be up to 45 calendar days after they get your completed application. If ODHS has to make an eligibility decision based on a disability, it may take longer.

If you do not receive anything after 45 days, you can ask about the status of your application. To do this, contact the office where you applied.

If you applied by mail, you can call ONE Customer Service at 1-800-699-9075.

You can also check your online ONE account at ONE.Oregon.gov
