All research at OSH will focus on
improving the hospital and our services. Either hospital staff or researchers
from the academic community could complete this research. The OSH Research
Committee serves as the central entry point for all research. Details on the research
committee and how you can get involved are listed below.
OSH also employs a full-time
research coordinator to guide potential projects from the application process
through implementation. The research coordinator will also contact and notify
potential stakeholders within the hospital to assist the research process.
Research Coordinator: Simon Bauer-Leffler, PhD, serves as the research coordinator
for Oregon State Hospital. Before joining the hospital, he coordinated
research efforts between Arizona State University and Starbucks Corp. to
support their college achievement plan program. Bauer-Leffler has eight
years of professional research experience in various topics, ranging from
community corrections to dental-health knowledge. He specializes in survey
research methodology and quantitative analysis, and he is currently working to
expand his knowledge of GIS techniques and data querying using R.
