Hearing screeners help screen newborns and educate families on the importance of newborn hearing screenings. Additionally, they support families in scheduling follow-up appointments prior to discharge for infants who do not pass. Screeners should have a plan for missed screenings and equipment malfunctions that may impact their ability to complete screenings.
