Implementing the Clean Fuels Program Electricity 2021 Rulemaking

The CFP Electricity 2021 Rulemaking was adopted by the Environmental Quality Commission on March 26, 2021.

This rulemaking improved upon the ways that the Clean Fuels Program can advance transportation electrification including:

• Encouraging new types of electric vehicles
• Updating the calculation of the carbon intensity of electricity
• Encouraging the use of renewable electricity
• Focusing electrification investments in environmental justice communities
• Incentivizing the electrification of fleets
