Health Equity Researchers of Oregon

The Goal of HERO

Health Equity Researchers of Oregon (HERO) is a community of individuals across the state that work together to contribute to policy and community-based efforts through health equity research and practice. The goal of HERO is to improve the health of diverse groups of people.

During HERO meetings, organizations, programs and individuals are invited to present information on a particular topic to the public. At the end of each HERO meeting, all meeting attendees are invited to share any releveant health equity research or findings with the group.

HERO meetings are open to the public, and they are held 4 times a year (please see meeting schedule below).

The focus of the 2015 HERO meeting series is Traditional Health Workers, which includes Community Health Workers, Doulas, Peer Support Specialists, Peer Wellness Specialists, and Personal Health Navigators.
