When Family Outcomes are Not What We Hoped
Notes for reflection and action at the client and system level
When Family Outcomes are Not What We Hoped
Reflection questions: journal or discuss with your reflective practice supervisor or state nurse consultant

Reflection sessions are guided by the HVer and should start with mindful self-regulation.
The below questions can be used as guiding tools spaced out over multiple reflection sessions, per home visitor's needs.
  • What has it been like for you to serve this client?
  • What do you now know that you didn't know before the outcome was determined?
  • What would you like to repeat from your practice with this family if you have a similar client situation in the future?
  • What would you like to change in your practice if you have a similar client situation in the future?
  • What unmet need do you have regarding helping you process this outcome? How will you get that need met?
