Implement cost-effective, high-impact approaches to improve habitat and restore natural floodplain function with minimal impact on the landscape.
Project Overview
Trout Unlimited trained and worked with several hand crews, including Northwest Youth Corps, and the John Day Conservation Corps (an all-veteran crew). The crews constructed 52 wood structures and numerous wood additions along 4.27 stream miles and 60.5 acres of floodplain. These structures help to reduce stream flows, manage flood events, and restore critical fish and wildlife habitat.
