    ​Conduct your DMV business online
    All customers can change their address and report the sale of a vehicle using DMV's online services. Most customers (if stated on their renewal notice) can renew their vehicle registrations online. Save yourself a trip and go online instead! 
  • New Driver Card authorized by Oregon lawmakers
    Provides driving privilege without proof of legal presence in the U.S.
    Senate Bill 833 was signed into law May 1, 2013 and takes effect January 1, 2014. It allows the Oregon DMV to issue a Driver Card to people who can comply with all of the requirements for a driving privilege except providing proof of legal presence in the United States.
  • All DMV offices will be closed Friday and Monday, May 24 and 27
    DMV will be closed for a statewide furlough before the Memorial Day weekend
    Friday, May 24th is the final mandatory unpaid closure scheduled in the 2011-13 budget period as part of statewide cost-cutting measures. All DMV offices, including the headquarters building, will be closed Friday, May 24th for the furlough and the following Monday, May 27th for Memorial Day. However, you can still conduct some business with DMV online or by mail.
  • DMV offices are no longer open on Saturdays
    Most offices are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    DMV office hours have been cut to reduce costs. As of July 2, 2012 the last two DMV offices that were open on Saturdays were moved to a Monday - Friday schedule. Some DMV offices have special hours or are only open on certain days of the week. Please check the office Web pages before heading out to be sure that they are open on the day and time that you want to visit.
  • Commercial drivers must comply with medical card rules

    Since January 30, 2012, Oregon DMV has required commercial truck and bus drivers to submit a photocopy of their medical certificate to continue holding a commercial driver license. The new requirement is part of federal safety regulations aimed at making sure CDL holders are medically fit to operate commercial vehicles.

    Whether you're applying for the first time or renewing for the 10th
    All applicants for driver licenses, instruction permits and ID cards (including renewals and replacements) must present proof of their full legal name and U.S. citizenship or lawful presence in the United States. It can take weeks to obtain some of the documents you'll need to meet the new laws, so don't wait until your license or ID card expires.
