The Mist Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility consists of underground natural gas storage reservoirs, compressor stations, gathering pipelines, operations and maintenance facilities, and a gas transmission pipeline. The permitted storage area is approximately 5,472 acres and has a permitted daily natural gas throughput of 635 million standard cubic feet.
Under Review/Operating. The North Mist Expansion Project, approved by Council in April 2016 through Site Certificate Amendment 11, started construction in 2017. On August 3, 2017, the certificate holder submitted Request for Amendment 12 (RFA 12) seeking EFSC approval for a new limited-use water license for water use on a specific property during construction of the North Mist Expansion Project. The Council issued a Temporary Order on RFA 12 following review of the proposed order and comments received at its August 18, 2017 meeting. The deadline to request a contested case on the Temporary Order on RFA 12 is 5:00 pm on September 5, 2017. Details on submitting a request for contested case are provided in the public notice below.
