COVID-19 Vaccine Information for THW and HCI 

Traditional Health Workers (THWs) and Health Care Interpreters (HCIs) who currently provide services in any healthcare setting, including the ASL HCIs, are included in the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan. The steps involved to receive the vaccine are being finalized. As soon as the process is finalized, the THW and HCI workforce will be notified by email.

COVID-19 Extension of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for HCIs

Health Care Interpreters (HCIs) have been granted an extra 12 months to submit their continuing educations unit (CEUs) requirments to OHA. This extension applies to all interpreters who have certifications or qualifications that expire since the beginning of the pandemic on March 1, 2020 until December 31, 2020. This will be reflected on their expiration dates online.
