That's a wrap for the 2026 Oregon Prepared Conference!

The Oregon Prepared Conference provides participants with training and information on programs, current issues, lessons learned and best practices related to all phases of emergency management. It also offers several days of networking opportunities.
This annual conference is open to tribal, county, city, special district, state and federal emergency management staff; public safety and health preparedness staff; DHS/FEMA preparedness grant recipients; and non-profit and private sector partners with a role in mitigation, preparedness, response, or recovery.

Dr. Sarah Miller is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) who holds a PhD from Capitol Technology University, where she studied the use of AI in emergency management. She is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Emergency Management program at Pierce College and has an active emergency management and cybersecurity consulting practice. She was a local emergency manager in Washington for 15 years and has been the Chair of IAEM’s Emerging Technology Caucus twice, as well as being the Past-President of IAEM Region 10. She has spoken extensively about practical applications and considerations for AI in Emergency Management, including appearances at the International Atomic Energy Agency conference in Saudi Arabia and at the United Nations in Vienna, Austria. Her research and work focuses on practical applications, but also considers how AI is shaping the future of EM.
