Service Staff means “service workers as defined by a collective bargaining agreement or, if no collective bargaining agreement exists, by the chief executive officer of the hospital or the chief executive officer’s designee, consistent with National Labor Relations Board regulations.” ORS 441.760(13). Examples of service staff members may be hospital environmental services staff and hospital dietary services staff. The types of staff included in this definition may vary by hospital because “service staff” is defined by either collective bargaining agreement or the hospital chief executive officer. An individual in a specific job category may be included in a service staffing plan at one hospital and the same job category may not be included in service staff definitions, plans, and protections at another hospital.
Investigation Tools
OHA is creating investigation tools to facilitate efficient complaint investigations. Hospitals will be provided with relevant investigation tools at the beginning of any investigation along with the Needs List of required document submissions.
